Shannon Watson, CPA
With over two decades of experience in public accounting, Shannon is a seasoned professional specializing in helping buyers and sellers navigate successful business transactions. Her deep expertise spans financial reporting, GAAP standards, financial analysis, Quality of Earnings, and working capital, particularly for small and mid-sized companies. Shannon has played an instrumental role in buy-side and sell-side due diligence, providing critical support to private equity firms, lenders, and middle-market companies across industries including retail, consumer products, e-commerce, manufacturing, business services, and consumer services.
In her consulting practice over the past six years, Shannon has partnered with boutique and middle-market accounting firms, advising on firm practice protocols, training personnel, and offering strategic guidance to M&A clients. Prior to consulting, Shannon began her career in audit before transitioning to RSM's Transaction Advisory Services Group in New York. Shannon's time at RSM included leading financial due diligence transactions valued at up to $500 million and relocating to Dallas to expand the firm's Transaction Advisory Services practice in the Texas market.
From startups to established enterprises, Shannon ensures clients are prepared for successful transactions, whether buying or selling businesses. As a founding member of Aspen Tree Advisors, she leverages her expertise in financial due diligence and advisory services to guide strategic initiatives, build industry partnerships, and support clients through complex business deals at every stage.
Shannon holds a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University, where she served as President of Delta Sigma Pi.
David Cho, CPA
David Cho is a strategic financial leader with over 20 years of combined experience as a CFO and advisor to private equity firms on M&A transactions, post-transaction finance transformations, and audit engagements. He has facilitated over 200 M&A transactions across various core industries such as consumer & industrial products, restaurant & retail, manufacturing, wholesale & distribution, business services, and software & technology.
>David's career includes serving as CFO for several companies including Healthy Spot, a PE-backed pet care brand, where he led multiple rounds of capital raises, NetSuite ERP implementation, enterprise-wide financial optimization, business acquisition and integration, and achieved a 30% annual growth rate (CAGR) over 3 years. At RSM US LLP, David held pivotal roles as Partner and National Leader of the Consumer Products and Restaurant teams, advising private equity firms on M&A financial due diligence, transaction readiness, and post-transaction finance transformation, consistently delivering value-add results within tight deadlines.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting from UCLA. David's growth mindset, technical expertise, and reputation of being easy to work with make him an invaluable partner in navigating the complexities of dynamic businesses and M&A transactions.
Dan Solomon
Dan Solomon is a seasoned financial strategist with over 20 years of experience in M&A transactions, interim CFO roles, and financial transformation. He has successfully led over 125 transactions across diverse industries, including manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, aerospace, software, and healthcare. His expertise includes buy/sell-side Quality of Earnings (QoE), Purchase Price Allocation (PPA), net working capital (NWC) negotiations, carveouts, and earn-outs.
Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles at prestigious firms such as RSM US LLP and Boeing, honing deep expertise in financial modeling, due diligence, and transaction advisory services. Dan has built a strong reputation for delivering value to private equity firms, public and private acquirers, debt funds, and investment banks. As a founding partner of Aspen Tree Advisors, he brings a hands-on approach that ensures clarity, confidence, and precision in every engagement.
His capabilities span due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, valuation, accounting, and CPA-level competencies. Known for his calm leadership in high-stakes environments, he is adept at managing teams and driving successful outcomes in complex financial scenarios.
Dan holds a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) from Brigham Young University, where he served as Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi, and an Associate of Arts in Accounting from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
